We understand that being away from home can be a traumatic and frightening experience for any child. Therefore, we want their stay at Kirby's to be as normal and memorable as possible. Our Program Director and Facility Manager makes this possible.
ON SITE RECREATION:
After a long week of school and treatment, our children can unwind in several ways. They have access to two "GAME-ROOMS" equipped with a full size Billiards table, an Air hockey table, a Karaoke Station, Video games and Board games. We also provide two "HOME THEATERS" where they can view the latest age appropriate movies and enjoy movie snacks. We also have a "LOUNGE" where they can read a good book, enjoy a snack, get on the computer, play with a personal handheld game or simply relax. We also provide a fenced outdoor area where they can get that extra energy out.
We also go on outings such as to the Movies, the Park, Bowling, and Skating. During the summer and some weekends, we make it a road-trip and go to Six Flags Over Texas(Arlington) and Fiesta Texas(San Antonio), Splash Town and Galveston Beach. They also have the opportunity to attend Elks Camp(Gonzales, Tx) and Camp Good News(Hockley, Tx). They also go Fishing and Crabbing just to name a few. They also attend High School and Professional sporting events just to name a few.
We operate on a point based behavior system. Each week based upon the amount of points they have, they can go to the on site "COUPON STORE" where "We don't take cash, but you must be on task" and redeem them. Based on their house level, they also have the opportunity to work in the store.
Our kids also have an opportunity to earn an allowance
