The Treatment Process

To provide an effective program and services, we depend on a group of professionals to make the dream work.  We DO NOT offer a cookie cutter treatment program.  We provide services that are designed for each individual child.  Each child has an Individual Treatment Plan and this plan is evaluated quarterly for progression or stagnation.  Their participation is a must.

The Clinical Director oversees our treatment team and puts the plan (Treatment Plan) in place.  For those difficult days, we offer Individual, Group and Family Therapy by a Licensed Therapist.  To help them make better choices and decisions, we  work with them on Social Skills, Conflict Resolution, Life Skills, and Coping Skills.  They also participate in Trust Building activities. 

For our children who are examined and require the assistance of medication, they have 24 hour access to a Licensed Psychiatrist and are evaluated monthly.  We also arrange for them to have Medical, Dental, Hearing, and Vision exams on a regular basis. 

Their EDUCATIONAL needs are met through schools in the Houston Independent School District.  They attend classes in a regular school setting.  They are expected to attend daily.  We have a good working partnership with our schools and the administrators.  We provide as much information as possible to ensure that their educational needs can be met. 

Our children are assigned daily chores and responsibilities.  They have the opportunity to earn an allowance to spend as they choose.  Our children must do their part.  Every child must make an effort in order for their treatment to be successful and to enjoy the many rewards that Kirby's has to offer.
